I know you’re supposed to write something clever here, or witty, or even inspiring, but I just don’t ever know what to write when describing my designs so that it doesn’t sound like a food blogger trying to use every SEO/Keyword possible. So here is my Daisy Granny Square Bag. I had originally planned on making a cardigan for Pride, because yellow, white, purple, and black are the colors of the Non-Binary flag, but after making 42 yellow circles I decided I did not want to weave in 42 squares worth of ends, so I finished 10 and called it a weekend. Also, as much as I struggled with it, the daisy is probably my favorite part because it only took 22 tries to figure it out. The temptation to just google it crossed my mind, but this time, I won.
Anyway, let’s get to the pattern, ya?

Daisy Granny Square Pattern (Make 10)

- Round 1: ch 2, 11 double crochet (dc) into ring
- Round 2: change to new color with a slip st in any space between dc; ch2, * 3 treble (tc) in same space; remove crochet hook and insert it into the top of the first tc; hook and pull last tc through first loop – petal made – ch2 * and repeat * to *. make 11 more petals in this fashion
- Slip st into first petal and finish off.
Rest of the Square:
- Round 1: Attach new color with a slip stitch to any ch 2 space. Ch 2 (counts as first dc), 2 double crochet (dc), ch 1, 3 dc (corner made). Into the next two spaces: 3 dc. Into the next space: 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc (corner made), 3 dc in next two spaces, and 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc (corner made) until you get to the beg ch 2. Slip stitch into top of ch 2.
- Round 2: slip to corner space and beg with ch 2, 2 dc, ch1, 3 dc, then * 3 dc into next 3 spaces, 3dc, ch 1, 3 dc * repeat from * around and join with a slip stitch.
Standard Granny Square Pattern ( Make 3)
- Round 1 – Magic Circle, Ch 2, 2dc, ch1, 3dc, ch1, 3dc, ch1, 3dc, ch 1, slst to top of ch 2.
- Round 2 – 5 – In each corner, 3dc, ch1, 3dc, ch1. In each ch1 space between corners, 3dc, ch1.

Lay out the squares like this, and seam together (Ignore the solid line, it doesn’t mean anything different than the dotted lines, I just messed up and didn’t realize it until the minute before I hit “publish” 🙂)

Then fold in half and slst the sides together. Finish off and weave in the ends.
Finishing and Strap:
To finish the top of the bag, attach the yarn anywhere and single crochet along the entirety of the top of the bag. Finish off and weave in the ends. To create the straps, attach the yarn at the top of one of the points, chain 120 (or whatever length you want your straps) and then single crochet to the top of the point next to it. Chain one and then single crochet in each chain stitch back to the beginning. Slst to the space you attached your yarn and finish off. Weave in your ends. Repeat these steps on the other side of the bag.
