Hi pals! Welcome back to the blog – today’s a little “mid-year catch-up” mixed with some announcements, updates, and a sprinkle of really fun things coming your way soon.
First things first, if you haven’t noticed (👀), I’ve been living on YouTube lately. Every Friday is “Fiber Friday,” where we dive into something fiber arts related – think WIPs, wrap-ups, reviews, and occasionally me yelling about yarn. Sundays are for “Bookish Banter,” where I spiral into whatever chaos my TBR has created. I’ve been loving the love you’ve shown those videos, truly.

Now yes, I’m still blogging (obviously), but life got a little hectic with the 9-to-5 and I had to hit pause on some things, like writing tutorials and patterns. BUT! I’ve got some fun ones planned for July/August, new patterns in the works, and a couple collabs that genuinely made me gasp. Like, dramatic hand-to-chest, slack-jawed in the kitchen type of gasp.
And real quick – let’s talk about the whole “you’re a sellout” nonsense. (Pals, someone really commented that on one of my videos like it was a mic drop?) Here’s the deal: I don’t run ads on my website, I don’t get paid by YouTube or Instagram (yet), and this blog costs me money to keep going. So yeah, I use affiliate links and partner with brands I love and share the shit out of my friends art. That’s how I cover the $400/year for hosting, the $50/month for my newsletter, the $200/month in other costs – all while working 40+ hours a week. If you don’t want to use the links, don’t! But please don’t come for creators just trying to keep the lights on while making free content.
Socials wise, nothing wild is changing. I’m still posting daily on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook (sometimes twice if I’m in a mood). Bluesky is basically just work stuff for now, and Threads is my scrolling zone. I forget to post, I won’t lie. I could overshare my every thought but… does anyone really want that? (Didn’t think so.)

TLDR; Tutorials are coming back in July/August. Patterns are on the horizon. I’m gonna keep promoting yarn and products I love. Book content is an obsession currently. And if you want to stay in the loop with all my chaotic goodness, sign up for the newsletter. It’s the best way to keep up with my nonsense.
Love you pals, be safe.
