Hi pals, welcome back to the blog! Today I am SO FREAKING EXCITED to share with you my newest design, Jenny’s Crochet Shawl. This one is super special to me, and yes I am going to go full on “food blogger” and tell you about it. (I won’t be offended if you skip to the bottom, but it’s a cute story I think.)

Jenny’s Crochet Shawl is a deeply personal and special design inspired by friendship, love, and a perfectly aligned moment in time. The journey began years ago when I met Dan, a cherished friend, who later introduced me to Jenny—someone so kind, vibrant, and effortlessly wonderful that I knew I’d one day create something for her. (If you look at my Josefine’s Bucket Hat, Ellexa Beanie, I mean you get the way I work by now.)
When Dan and Jenny got engaged, I set out to design the perfect piece, ultimately landing on a delicate yet strong crochet shawl to complement her sleeveless wedding dress. Though life threw a few hurdles my way—including lost yarn and a car break-in—the project found its way back to me, just as Hobbii reached out at the perfect time. Crafted with Sultan Pastello, Friends Kid Silk, and Glitter Deluxe thread, this shawl is soft, elegant, and sprinkled with just the right amount of sparkle—just like Jenny herself.

So the stars aligned and the yarn arrived and I flew through this sample in about 2 weeks. I had to rework a few spots, but I think the repeats flow magically and the border really brings everything together. And the yarn, oh this yarn is so dreamy. You know what, I’m gonna give the yarn it’s own paragraph or three.

First we have the cake of Sultan Pastello. This is a 100% cotton sock weight yarn. I used the color Physalis (04). This color specifically represented the softness in the bouquet she carried on her wedding day. There were oranges and pinks and peaches and deep reds and it was just something special. I really gravitated towards the peachy pink vibes and went with it.
The second yarn is Hobbii’s Friends Kid Silk yarn. This is 72% Mohair, 25% Silk, 3% Wool, and a lace weight yarn. I used the colorway Hint of Pink (50). It’s a little scratchy if I am being honest, as a lot of mohair tends to be, but it does soften quite a bit in the (hand)wash. Plus the halo is just *chefs kiss*.
And the final “yarn” is actually a 100% Polyester thread, Glitter Deluxe 30g. I used the color Silver (18120). I HIGHLY recommend using a yarn holder with this, because I don’t think it would cake very nicely, and it will tangle in your mohair if you’re not careful. However, it’s delightful when held with the other yarns and I really love how it brought just the perfect touch of sparkle to the design.

Alright sam, where’s the pattern?
Okay so like I said, this one is a Hobbii Collab. They sent me the yarn for free, I write a pattern, and they feature it on their website for sale, and I make a percentage of those sales. So for right now, you can find the pattern HERE.
I appreciate you even clicking the link if you can’t/don’t want to purchase it. It helps me out either way. <3
Thanks for sticking around with me pals. It’s been a wild start to this year and I can’t believe we are almost done with MARCH already. Time has been freaking FLYING by. I hope you’re cozy, I hope you’re safe, and if you ever need anything, I am an inbox away.
Xx,
Sam
