I know you’re supposed to write something clever here, or witty, or even inspiring, but I just don’t ever know what to write when describing my designs so that it doesn’t sound like a food blogger trying to use every SEO/Keyword possible. So here is a reboot of a pattern from 2019, my Tunisian Blanket Scarf! I love the way this drapes, holds up over time, and goodness the softness of this specialty yarn from JoAnn’s was some of my favorite budget friendly “fancy” yarn I have worked with to this day.

Pattern Notes
- Please read the entire pattern before beginning.
- Chain 1 at the beginning of each row does count as a stitch.
- Tunisian Return Pass does not count as a separate row and is always included with each row, be sure to make note if you are changing colors because that is done in the return pass.
- If you are doing this as one solid color you do not have to worry about where I have marked to change colors, just continue until the end.
- If you are changing colors please see my notes regarding where you color change and how I recommend changing your colors.
- This pattern is worked in back and forth rows, do not turn your work
Abbreviations
All patterns follow the same abbreviations as the Crafty Yarn Council.

Pattern Directions
Gauge
- 4×4 inch square = 7 stitches x 5 rows
Scarf Pattern
Using your main color (color A)
- Chain 49 being sure to keep your stitches a bit loose so you can work the first row
- Row 1- In the 2nd chain from the hook insert your hook into the back bump of the stitch and pull up a loop leaving that loop on the hook, continue that across. Once you are at the end, chain 1 to create your height for the next row, then *yarn over and pull through two loops*. Repeat * to * (that is the return pass) until you have one loop left on your hook.
- Row 2 – Ch 1, yarn over and go into the front post of the second stitch (skipping the first stitch)
*Yarn over and pull up a loop. Chain 2, skip the next stitch and insert your hook into the next
bar. * Repeat * to * until you are at the last stitch. Yarn over twice, insert your hook into the ch1
space from the previous row, double crochet, chain 1 and return pass back until you have 1 loop
left on your hook.
- Row 3 – 76 Repeat Row 2
- Row 77 – Insert your hook into the 2nd stitch from the hook (not the bars you were working in
previously, but the long stitch right in front of that) yarn over pull up a loop then slip stitch
through both loops on the hook. Insert your hook into the next stitch (the bar you were working
on before) and pull up a loop then slip stitch through both loops on the hook. Repeat until the end, then finish off and weave in ends.
