Hi pals! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am sharing with you an update on my 2025 Temperature Blanket! I finally got my yarn in, my hexagons started, and now I get to show you it in all its glory! Okay, maybe not ALL its glory, but at least the first glorious steps in the process.
For this one you can check out this blog post with some more of the details!
I am using JoAnn’s Big Twist Acrylic for this blanket. With my Tunisian Temperature Blanket Pattern, I used Knit Picks Brava, and it’s held up wonderfully. This time I wanted to try something a little more affordable and see how it goes. I use this yarn for cardigans and other garments and house hold items, so I feel like it’s going to be fine, but only time will tell.
Here is the yarn for the Temperature Blanket!
The colors I am using are:
- Big Twist Twinkle in White
- Big Twist Cotton Candy
- Big Twist Magenta
- Big Twist Purple
- Big Twist Cyan
- Big Twist Green Gecko
- Big Twist Varsity Yellow
- Big Twist Bright Orange
- Big Twist Varsity Red
- Big Twist Twinkle in Mulberry

And I’m not going to give you a full update, but here is what the first week of temperatures looks like in the spreadsheet:

And here’s how that translates to the first hexagon for the temperature blanket:

Isn’t that so freaking rad? This blanket is going to be so cool and I am so excited to finish up what I can so far. I was only 5 hexagons behind, and I got a few made this week in between books, so I am just about caught up and then it becomes a waiting game after that!
Alright pals, onto the tutorial! Today I have the video up for you, ready to go, but if you have any questions feel free to reach out! I love you pals, stay safe!
