Hi pals! This weeks blog is a fun one, and two parts! For this part, we have a crochet afterthought cuff tutorial. I will be showing you how to add a ribbed edge to your cardigans, sweaters, beanies, and whatever else you want to add a ribbed cuff/collar to!
The other part is the zig-zag slip stitch seaming tutorial I have over here!
I recommend checking them both out, because both will be used in designs coming out really really soon. Like one is just a few days away! Okay, I added a photo at the end so you can get a quick glimpse of what we are talking about, but I promise it’s super cute and if you’re signed up for my newsletter you’re going to know about it first!
Anyway, this is a really simple tutorial, just grab a swatch you’ve got lying around (or just make a quick granny square), and grab your closest hook and yarn and try it out along with me!
Crochet Afterthought Cuff Tutorial

Here are a few other patterns I found that use an afterthought cuff!
- Forked Cluster Crochet Hat (free crochet pattern)
- Winter Wonderland Cabled Mittens (free crochet pattern)
- The Apollo Sweater (free crochet pattern)
Plus, now you have this on hand for anytime you’re working on a cardigan and want to have a cuff that might be just a little bit different than the one on the design. See, little tricks to add to your stash!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial pals and I hope you are cozy. <3
