Hi pals! Here is my book review of Here We Go Again. I hope you like it!
Here We Go Again by Alison CochrunMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
My new favorite Queer Romcom of 2024, hands down. I just adore Alison Cochrun and that storytelling mind.
Logan and Rosemary used to be best friends, dreaming of adventures and telling stories, until an incident the summer before high school turned them into bitter rivals. Now in their 30’s, the two find themselves forced together, setting off on a cross country trip with their dying former English teacher.
I really want to tell you more about it, but honestly, it’s so much better to experience it yourself as the events come into view.
Alright, now that I set you up with a 10 second intro, the first two chapters? Had me dying laughing. Applebee’s, I’ll tell you. This book has so many inclusive aspects to it too and I adore the authors kindness and empathy behind multiple topics. Every time I thought I would get upset/defensive/angry (I am 100% Logan, with a very similar cursing mouth), I was quickly shown that the world doesn’t have to be bad all the time.
On top of that, the overall story is so beautiful. Joe is probably one of my all time favorite characters in a book. His wit and humor and kindness and love is just so endearing and I wish everyone had someone like Joe in their lives. His history, and Remy, really brought something special to it all.
And just a warning, I sobbed my eyes out in multiple parts of this book. It’s sad, like sad sad, in some spots, but it’s 100% worth the tears. (or you totally might not cry, idk your life, and I cry at dog commercials so you do you boo.)
