Okay, so, here’s the plan. You know the sisterhood of the traveling pants?
What if we (Twitch streamers who actively stream in the Makers & Crafting space on Twitch) make a blanket, and Sam starts the blanket with *insert blanket here* and then Sam ships it to K3Ls, and he adds to it, and they ship it and so on and so forth.
For example: Sam crochets a rectangle with some sort of colorwork. Then K3Ls crochet around the rectangle for 10-ish rows, then someone crochets two squares and attaches those, then someone adds a triangle or two, etc.
So a “Siblinghood of the Traveling Blanket“
Then at the end we host a raffle, then split the proceeds evenly between a non-profit in each of our city/states that we resonate with personally.
You would provide the yarn, we can decide as a group what we want to use, but I would like to stick with something of good quality but more affordable, like Knit Picks Brava or Hobbii Amigo. (Red Heart is just too scratchy, etc.)
Side note: Sam is reaching out to their contact at Knit Picks to see if they want to sponsor it, and if not you can TOTALLY use stash yarn or there will be a discount for Knit Picks provided. <3
This is “technically for” knitters/crocheters, but if you sew or do leather work or another craft (maybe a backing for the blanket, or a leather tag with everyone’s name on it that we can sew to the blanket) and want to contribute to the blanket, fill this out too and if we can make it work we would love to have you join!
