Listen, there will be zero spoilers in this book review of The Knight and The Moth by Rachel Gillig. I’m not that kind of monster.
But Rachel Gillig? Excuse me? What you have done to my nervous system, my sleep schedule, and my emotional stability is unforgivable, and yet… thank you? Like, sincerely, deeply, thank you. I am devastated in the most beautiful way.

The Knight. The Moth. The tension. The layers. The vibes. The political undercurrent. The kind of slow burn that makes you want to throw the book across the room and then immediately crawl across the floor to pick it back up because you’re not done suffering. It’s all just… perfection. And the way it feels? Nope. No. I promised. No spoilers. Zip it.
Here are actual things I said out loud while reading (vague, but honest):
📚 “I swear to God.”
📚 “What in the f*ck.”
📚 “OMG YESSS.”
📚 “EXCUSE ME?!”
📚 “Bahaha right??”
📚 “OH HELL NO.”

So yeah. Saying I’m unhinged for this book doesn’t even scratch the surface. I am spiritually feral. I want to erase my brain just so I can read it for the first time all over again. And until book two drops, don’t talk to me, don’t look at me, and for the love of all things unholy, don’t ask me if I’m okay.
Because I’m not.
And I love it here.
Barnes & Noble Edition – Check out this post by Orbit showing the differences. The B&N is the best quality (so far).
And if you’re interested in reading my reviews of Rachels other books One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns, you can check those out too! Just remember, these reviews are from 2023 and are NOT as rounded out as they are now. These just give a quick “I LOVE THIS” and that’s about it.
