Hi pals! Welcome back to this weeks blog! Today I am sharing with you my 2024 craft (& books) recap which includes everything I made, read, and worked on this month! I am SO excited to share some of these patterns with you, and please make sure to tag me on Instagram if you make any of them!
We’re also adding one new section this month, everything we posted here on the blog! I know sometimes things get missed or you had a busy weekend, but why not wrap them all up here too!
Everything I Wrote
How to read a pattern – Knit, Crochet, or Tunisian Crochet
Magical Garden Cardigan – Free Crochet Pattern
My Book Journal Tutorial and Layout
Everything I Read
This month I got a little bit of reading in, but between work and streaming and all of the projects I have been working on, I am realizing this winter is probably going to be an audio book kinda winter lol. Anyway, here’s what I read! (Full reviews are on my GoodReads if you want to check those out!)
Don’t Tell Me Twice
Magical Meet Cute

Hate Hex

Fall For Him

Heartless Hunter

Everything I Worked On
Here are all of the projects I have been working on but haven’t finished yet. I linked all of the patterns, but look for full reviews of them when I get finished with the projects. I also put my thoughts on Ravelry if you want to follow along over there!
Stream Giveaway Blanket
This has been such a blast to be working on while streaming over on Twitch. If you missed it, I stream my crocheting and knitting (and crafting and sometimes cozy games!) over on Twitch every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I started making a blanket to giveaway on stream about a week ago and this is the vibe! It is a secret design, made up of rainbow, black, and white squares, and as I complete rows I will reveal it on stream! Once I finish the blanket, hopefully before the end of the year, I will give it away on stream! To enter the giveaway you just have to have subbed, re-subbed, or been gifted a sub at any time from when I started the blanket to when I finish it. I will also allow a free entry to people who have a certain amount of channel points at the end as well, just for those that have been sticking around and support in other ways.

Knit Picks Sock
This is just another one of my SOS socks that I continue to make. This yarn is like 8 years old, but I forgot it was in my stash and figured why not make some socks with it! I think they are turning out pretty great imo.

Marled Mandala Shawl
This shawl is dreamy, let me tell you. I saw Vanessa Knits post about her Marled Mandala Shawl last week and realized I had the exact same skein of yarn in my stash (stash-busting for the WIN this month) and as soon as she released it I bought it and casted it on lol. You can get a kit from Lion Brand here, or you can grab the pattern off Ravelry here.

Green Knit Tank Top
We’re not gonna talk about this tank top. I am truly thinking about frogging it and finding something else. It’s not that I don’t love it, it’s that its boring as hell and I just can’t bring myself to knit 9 more inches of 350 stitches per row. That doesn’t sound like fun, especially because its bottom up and I can’t try it on and verify it even fits as I go. What do you think?

Calad Shirt
I adore this shirt. I know I don’t work on it often, but it involves a bit of counting and recently my brain has just been too tired for counting. Hoping to pick back up on it soon though. I’d love to finish it before spring.

Checkered Cardigan
This checkered cardigan is going to be the death of me. (I am sounding bit dramatic this week, aren’t I?) I got the first panel done, then jumped to a few projects and then jumped back and now my tension is off so the second panel is measuring small…. I am so frustrated, but I know it will be worth it when it’s done because I just can tell.

Everything I Finished
And finally, here is everything I finished. I tried to get as much wrapped up as I could this month, knowing I had the blanket and a few other spring projects in mind, but we got a few things done and I am happy with the progress all things considered.
Both Socks
I FINALLY got Sean’s sock (the blue and bred – brown/red – color) and then I immediately casted on my second sock (the pink and speckled) and finished it in a day. It took EIGHT FREAKING MONTHS to finish Sean’s sock. I swear if I had someone sitting next to me all day reminding me to finish things I would get a whole heck of a lot more done much more efficient and quickly lol.
Here’s the pattern (it’s free and I adore it): I’m So Basic Sock – Knitting Pattern

Speckeled Cardigan
I’m not gonna lie to ya’ll, I made this in 3 or 4 days. Like a few evenings and one weekend day. I just couldn’t stop. I don’t have a pattern for it, I just kinda made some rectangles and seamed them together and made the sleeves and that was just about it, but if you want me to write up the basic instructions just let me know and I think I can squeeze that in before I take a break for the winter and wrap up a few other designs I really want to get out.

Laptop Sleeve
This was a DELIGHT to work up. I was luck enough to work with my sweet friend Valerie over at Sunset Fiber Co to come up with this pattern I’ve got coming out sometime next month.
Valerie is one of the nicest people I have met on the internet, dyes GORGEOUS yarn, and the quality is just 10/10. Make sure you go follow her on Instagram and sign up for her newsletter to know when her next shop update is because you DON’T want to miss out.
She gifted me 4 skeins of her dk weight (80% SW, 10% Cashmere, 10% Recycled Nylon) in the color ways Day Dream (pink), Clear Skies (blue), and Cotton Candy Clouds (variegated). I wanted something to show off the variegated while giving texture and depth to the solids. I think it turned out absolutely incredible and I am so thankful to Valerie for letting me use her yarn for this project.
I still have some left over, so I have one more thing up my sleeve coming (probably next spring), but this yarn will make another appearance soon.

Crochet Pumpkins
And last but not least, my market pumpkins. I made a bunch of them for my shop update on October 1st so make sure you get ready because they normally don’t stick around long!
But if you want to make your own, here’s the pattern!

Alright pals! That’s it for this months recap! I hope you had fun this month, and if there is something you’re really wanting to see – no matter how “simple” you think it might be – let me know and I’d love to add it to the list!
Love you pals, mean it <3 Sam
