Hi pals and welcome back to the blog! Today we have a new crochet pattern, the sprout hat! This is a pattern I didn’t get tested or anything, I just made 5 of them in a row and someone asked me to post it so I am. 😅 (If there is an issue, please feel free to let me know and I will totally update it if needed.)
This is a super fun crochet pattern though. Essentially you just make a big ole rectangle and seam it on two sides, fold up the brim, add a cute sprout, and you’ve got yourself a super cute little hat. Idk, I love my headband sprouts I made and I wanted another way to wear sprouts out in the world without needing to wear my headphones all the time.

Sprout
If you are wanting to create a sprout to use for your hat, I used this pattern. I could have designed one similar, but I already used this one and why fix something that isn’t broke?
Anyway, here is the pattern to the sprout. You will just make the two leaves and ignore the “stem” that you would normally crochet at the end.
Once the leaves are made you will take a piece of the cotton yarn that’s about 2 feet long, fold it in half, then attach it to your hat where the sprout is on the outside of the hat and the two strands of yarn are stuck into the hat. Tie them together and weave in your ends.
Fold your brim up (or leave it unfolded for a slouchy style beanie) and you’ve got your sprout hat all done! Make sure you tag me in any photos you post!
