Holy shit, this book/series. (Read the first one, or don’t, but I recommend that one too!)
Let me start off by saying I am normally not into the cop/bad guy dynamic, but Brittany Ann has officially changed my mind.
Amara is a detective that just wants to do her job, save everyone she can, and that’s enough for her. Leon is a street racer with a dark past and wants to protect his family. Two years ago their paths crossed in a wild night at a bar and since then, neither has forgotten the other.
Fast forward, while Amara is working a case, she just happens to cross paths with Leon, from two years ago. Between their witty banter, he is doing everything in his power to keep her from solving this case, but why?
WELL I just loved this book. Amara is such a bad ass with such a light to her soul and makes me wish there were more cops in the real world that were like her. Lee is the bad boy of your dreams and continues to reiterate that I just love a morally gray man who carries himself with a purpose.
Every single time he called her Butterfly I audibly swooned.
THEN he said “Clutch and shift with me, butterfly” and I died.
