✨Book Lovers REVIEW✨
| ✨Book Lovers REVIEW✨ Author/Publisher: @emilyhenrywrites @berkleypub Pages: 377 Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nora Stephens is exactly who I thought I would be as an adult. She is a strong independent woman who is in charge of their life and career, still taking care of her younger sister Libby (even though she is an adult with kids of her own) after their Mom died, and obsessed with books and her job, that is also about books. So when her sister begs her to take her first vacation in a decade to a small town that was the most recent setting of her clients best selling novel, she says yes because she can never say no to her baby sister. Number one, I adore the prologue. I loved how honest and open Nora is with us. She is so self aware, but in the most wrong ways possible and I love her even more for that. I love that she puts herself up there with Meredith Brooks from Parent Trap because I always wanted Mer to have a happy ending, even if she wasn’t supposed to be the twins’ step mom. Number two, I loved every single chapter of this book. I loved her relationship with her sister. I loved her protective instincts. I loved that the town wasn’t a “perfectly quaint town that smelled like fresh baked bread and happiness” but was just a small town in North Carolina. I loved that Nora had an author constantly needing her attention during the entire book, because sometimes jobs don’t let you take vacation time no matter how hard you try. I felt seen, understood, slightly pissed that someone wrote about dream me without asking first (kidding Emily, but I’ve got my eyes on you ;) ) and I am so happy I picked this one up. And Number three, enters Charlie. I loved Charlie from the second she met with him in NYC. I didn’t care if he was mentioned once, or was the romantic interest, I just adored his quick wit and the way he didn’t back down when she responded with something more witty. He respects a nice pair of shoes, books, and the relationship she has with her job. I laughed out loud multiple times, shouted at them, and then sobbed the last 25 pages of the book. I am REALLY trying to not spoil anything, but Charlie Lastra is currently sitting in my “book partner” role, no further questions. |
